Dr. Cowen received his B.S. in biology and society from Cornell University and his M.D. from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He then went on to receive specialty training in dermatology and serve as chief resident at the University of Rochester. Dr. Cowen completed a clinical research fellowship in the Dermatology Branch and the master’s program in clinical research from Duke University before joining the faculty as a staff clinician in July 2004.
